INTRODUCTION:
Welcome to Ragas in film music. When I used to search the internet for songs based on Carnatic ragas, I was able to find so many search results. But most of them were only text based. I thought if there could be a single destination to view and listen to all the film songs based on all the classical ragas, it would be great.
Slowly, i started posting the songs that i listened to, in this blog. There are thousands of movie songs based on carnatic and hindustani ragas. This blog will try to feature most of them. The format is like all the songs in a raga are listed under a single label with the raga's name.
I have added some interesting ragas, in which there are no film compositions as far as i know. May be, there are some. I will host them once i come to know about them.
Till such time, enjoy the ragas and i would be happy if this inspires some music directors to compose in these ragas.
An easy tip to search songs: Just type the song name or movie name followed by 'raga' in Google.

It is a wonderful collection of songs by Ragas. I was searching for certain song - I ended landed in this page. Many people do not know that lots of our movie songs are based on carnatic and Hindustani ragas. Knowing this it give more respect to those songs. This is a good gift for our younger generation.
